Source transparency
Claims should remain traceable to the evidence, transformations and assumptions that produced them.
Interdisciplinary analysis
Questions are examined across technical, economic, institutional, historical and social boundaries.
Quantitative + qualitative
Measurement reveals patterns; institutions, incentives, history and human behaviour explain their meaning.
Probabilistic reasoning
Uncertainty is represented explicitly rather than hidden behind false precision.
Red teaming
Material conclusions should be challenged through competing explanations and adversarial review.
Corrections
Substantive errors should be corrected visibly and without institutional defensiveness.
Independence
Funding may support inquiry. It must not purchase conclusions.
RESEARCH INDEPENDENCE & INTEGRITY
Transparency before mythology.
Conclusions remain answerable to evidence.
Funding, access, partnership and institutional proximity may enable enquiry. None may predetermine what the Foundation is permitted to observe, conclude, correct or publish.
Authority must remain inspectable.
Authorship, evidence, material support, conflicts, limitations and revisions should remain visible wherever they affect the interpretation or public use of the work.
Independence is not isolation. It is the institutional ability to enter consequential relationships without surrendering evidentiary judgement, correction, disclosure or the public purpose governing the work.
